The Student Support Scholarship has been such a blessing, I have been able to focus more on my studies and less on the stresses of affording my finances and tuition. Receiving the 20% discount on my tuition has also assisted me in my decision to transfer from the LLB program to the JD program, given the JD program has higher course fees and the discount balanced out the increase in fees under the JD program

I always knew that I wanted to have the chance to do more with my career, and this led me to Griffith University. The Master’s in Aviation Management from Griffith laid an excellent career foundation and framework in every aspect. [After graduation] during my time as a College Professor, the Master’s Degree provided me with valuable background knowledge that I used to make the course material and presentation more effective for the target group.

Griffith provided me with a new sense of hope. I started my new life and immersed myself in everything at university. I entered Griffith University through the Direct Entry Program – Griffith English Language Institute pathway. Studying English through the DEP has been one of the best experiences in my life and I have improved my English a lot. Through GELI, I have learnt how to lead a formal discussion group, improved my critical thinking, learnt research techniques, and how to write in formal English. DEP has helped me to strengthen my English skills which resulted in me being able to continue my studies in Psychology at Griffith University.

I chose to study at Griffith because beside being a renowned institution it has great financial support for international students. I was awarded the International Student Excellence Scholarship and this formulated part of my decision to study at Griffith. Education is a high value investment, especially as an international student! Without Griffith’s support, acknowledging my achievements in my undergraduate studies and believing in my capacity toward my masters, I would not be able to continue my studies.

As a non-native English-speaking learner, my English was not the best for completing the course, I consulted both Dr Minglin Li and Dr Sophiaan Subhan, they were so patient in explaining to me the ideas and theories. They even offered me online or phone consultations on numerous occasions. I was honoured to be accepted by Griffith University, and I am really lucky to have both Doctors helping and shedding light on my previous study and current research. After completion of Master’s of TESOL, I was appointed as head of IELTS, head of teachers, and then academic manager, this is something I have never dreamed of.

The highlight of my Griffith experience so far has been the study abroad opportunities that Griffith has. The university has networks in so many countries that you're practically spoilt for choice as to where you want to temporarily study. It's such a good experience, and Griffith has really nailed all aspects of getting students to have a broad network of opportunities.

I'm extremely grateful to have received the Griffith University and Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Scholarship (100%) which has helped me in more ways than I had ever imagined. Undoubtedly, this motivation has helped me explore my hidden potentials and become a better version of myself every single day. As part of this scholarship, I was invited to networking events where I had the opportunity to meet experts in my field and expand my university experience. This scholarship not only relieved my parents' financial burden but also made them proud to not have compromised on my ambitions. This scholarship meant I didn't have to work long shifts, could focus on my studies and allowed me to take time for myself and explore everything the beautiful Gold Coast had to offer

Griffith has several support services that have been able to help me in many ways. Orientation activities were really useful for me in my first year, and helped me to get a hang of university life in a quick and easy manner. The academics have also been incredibly helpful, providing me with tips and tricks to get ahead in courses and do well. The student admin is another important support service that has been really vital to me, and they've been able to sort out a range of issues that I've encountered.
