I chose London Met because it offered the course I wanted to study. While many UK universities combine translation and interpreting, which means fewer hours of interpreting practice, London Met offers an MA in Conference Interpreting with a broad range of languages, which was ideal for me.

Studying for my MBA at London Met has enriched me a lot both personally and professionally. The reason why I chose to study the MBA course is because I always wanted to set up my own business, and this is still one of my dreams, but it's on hold at present whilst I pursue the many other exciting projects I am currently involved in.

I enjoyed my course so much that I applied for a scholarship to do my PhD here, and with the support of my fantastic tutors I was able to secure my scholarship and am studying my PhD part time. I chose London Met in particular because they could offer me a place on a PhD in Health Policy with excellent supervisors and opportunities to develop myself as a researcher, academic and teacher.

I chose London Metropolitan University because I wanted to get a job in marketing after completing her studies, and I love London. The best of it was the Accelerator, a a business incubator run by the university. My business plan won the Big Idea Challenge, an annual competition run by Accelerator. If I hadn’t applied for the Accelerator programme I wouldn’t have done what I did.

Having decided to study an MSc in London, I choseLondon Met because of the £30 million Science Centre. Although it took a few years before I was ready to come to the UK, I couldn’t have chosen a better time to study in London as it coincided with the year of the Diamond Jubilee and the 2012 London Olympic Games.

When I came across London Met, one (on the lighter side) I found that a famous Portuguese actress who was in NCIS as a special agent attended the Uni years before, and two, London Met had just invested in upgrading the media facilities. I also checked out some lectures and was quite pleased with their backgrounds.

To be a part of the University is a wonderful experience. The cultural diversity is worth mentioning. Our lecturers and other non-teaching staff are warm and efficient. The help provided by the University is excellent. The library is the best part of the University and is where I have spent my most precious time since being in London.

All three years I spent at London Met are some of the best of my life.

Within my project I am bringing chaos to harmony – I study balance, illusion and motion, designing and making objects that trick the audience. Thanks to my tutors (and a bit of hard work) I can now say that the months I have spent at the School of Art, Architecture and Design are the very beginning of my career as a designer.

London Met had a master’s programme focused specifically on furniture design. The University’s location in central London was an appealing prospect to me. It was a one-year course, which meant I could get the qualification within a year and focus on working, so it ticked all the boxes.
