“The extra costs of the trip were reasonable and understandable: flights, Visa, travel insurance. It meant students could be flexible and arrange travel on either side of the program. Besides that, I could have easily spent little to no money during the program if I chose not to. But there were a few shopping opportunities to buy souvenirs and gifts. And we were asked to buy our own traditional outfit for the final night. People on the program would have spent between $20 to $150 on their outfits. So personal choice.”
