"The experience of living and studying in Perth is completely different from my country, I learn quicker by talking to my classmates. After graduating from UWA CELT, I am going to study business or science at UWA. Learning in a place that is developing rapidly like Perth is very interesting as you can have several options for your career."

There are two memories relating to my semester abroad that are really important: my Southeast Asia trip and my big trip to Australia with my friends from Germany. In all, we took in Bali, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand because to go there from Australia was relatively cheap. Then afterwards, I came back and I travelled around Australia with two friends from Germany for five weeks. Studying abroad made those experiences possible. After taking this course at UNE, I’ve really widened my horizons and I do feel that I’ve learned a lot.

I chose UNE because of its location. Armadale is a very beautiful city, you can enjoy all four seasons in one day!

"I chose GELI because my partner was already studying engineering at Griffith. I’d already graduated with a degree in Tourism back home, so I plan to work in this field. Australian culture has some similarity to mine, so I feel comfortable here. The people are very friendly to me."

"I’ve been to England before. I’ve been here twice, to London mainly. So, for the past few years, I always wanted to come back and see England and thought that maybe one day I’ll live here and teach here. Even more so now. I love England. It’s a beautiful country, very beautiful. It’s a lot to do and a lot to see."

"I chose to study abroad here because I’ve never left the country before so it was a good first step, not like going somewhere where they don’t speak English. Here, it's really cool that we get to be in the classrooms and get hands-on experiences. I’ve got so many great new ideas that are so different from what we have in the US, which is awesome."

"I chose this programme because it gives you a lot of great school experience and we are actually places in the classrooms which I really like so we can make some comparisons and learn from a different country and see what they do well so we can take it back to the States and maybe improve. Everyone is great. Mary is an angel!"

"I chose the UK because this was the perfect programme for me through my university at home. It’s a month-long programme and I thought that this was the perfect amount of time to study abroad because I didn’t really want to go away for the whole semester and I had some free time in the summer and this programme just happened to fit all those criteria."

"I come from Jinan province and I have been in Australia for six months. Gold Coast is an environmentally friendly city that is the most suitable place for learning English. Joining the extra-curricular activities offered by GELI can help me make friends. Many students who come from all around the world have became great friends of mine already."

"I recently studied General English and I am now in the Bridging Course. These courses are extremely useful to develop my English skills in many aspects and adapt to the Australian academic culture. Perth is a friendly city with a relaxing atmosphere and the people are kind. I have a wonderful experience living here and learning at The University of Western Australia." Tina will be studying Master of Science Communication at UWA.

"For me, the best part of the university has been the independence I gained and what came with that. Living on my own, buying my own food, and just making my own decisions was an essential part of my character growth in the past two years. I am a much more confident person in so many ways, and much happier and more content with what I am doing in life."

"Starting my studies at CCS allows me to get a great background in English while attending law major classes. The coursework here helps me become familiar with the legal environment in the US as well as important expressions and jargon before taking the LSAT and applying to a university to study a Law degree."
